IMPROVING Peyronie's THERAPY RESULTS
Peyronie's Shockwave Guide
Peyronie's Shockwave Guide
I have experienced Peyronie’s disease on two separate occasions. The first time, I underwent Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) and achieved a complete cure within eight months. Unfortunately, the second occurrence was much more persistent and severe—manifesting as an hourglass deformity and an upward bend. During this relapse, I collaborated with my consultant to develop the device shown below.
The Storz Medical Focused Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) device is widely used to disperse Peyronie’s plaque. Its therapeutic range with the long stand-off spans 0–30 mm, with a focal point around 15 mm.
The Peyronie’s Shockwave Guide was created to raise the stand-off by 5–10 mm from the penis (depending on the Contact Gel Funnel model), effectively adjusting the shockwave’s focal point for more precise targeting of the plaque. This guide also prevents the contact gel from spreading and enhances accuracy by keeping the ESWT device constrained to the exact plaque area.
Assemble Peyronie's Shockwave Guide and Contact Gel Funnel.
Mark the location of the plaque using an eyeliner pencil or similar.
Place the assembly over the plaque location with the mark centred in both directions. Hold this in place manually during the procedure.
Fill the funnel with the appropriate amount of contact gel.
Insert the Storz Medical ESWT device into the Peyronie's Shockwave Guide.
Move the Storz Medical ESWT device periodically to treat the area of the plaque.
Disassemble the Peyronie's Shockwave Guide and Contact Gel Funnel for cleaning and sterilising.
